CUTTING HEAD PROBLEMS
Blade or Cutting-line
head Won’t Stop Turning
When Throttle is at
SLOW Position Possible Cause Correction
Check throttle control and
cable. Fault in throttle control or cable;
throttle cable out of adjustment or
bent. Check throttle control parts,
adjust or replace cable if
necessary.
Idle speed is too fast. Adjust idle speed.
Check clutch. Clutch springs broken or worn, or
clutch system faulty. Replace clutch springs or
replace or repair other clutch
system parts.
Blade or Cutting-Line
Head Won’t Turn Possible Cause Correction
Check clutch, drive cable,
and gear case. Worn or broken clutch, broken
cable, worn or broken gear case
parts. Replace or repair faulty
components as needed.
Excessive Vibration Possible Cause Correction
Check cutting-line head or
blade nut. Cutting-line head or blade nut
loose. Tighten cutting-line head or
blade nut securely.
Check blade. Blade damaged. Replace blade.
