SECTION 4: ASSEMBLY

Beginning Assembly

Most of your Model G8622 Shaper has been
assembled at the factory, but some parts must be
assembled or installed after delivery. We have
organized the assembly process into steps.
Please follow along in the order presented in this
section.

Handwheel

The handwheel, pre-installed at the factory, is
made of cast iron. It is used to raise and lower the
spindle to accommodate the height required by
your cutter.

Thread the crank handle onto the handwheel and
tighten with a 12 mm wrench.

Keep clothing rolled up
and out of the way of
machinery and keep
hair pulled back.

Wear safety glasses dur-
ing the entire assembly
process. Failure to com-
ply may result in serious
personal injury.

Disconnect power to the
machine when perform-
ing any maintenance or
assembly. Failure to do
this may result in serious
personal injury.

Crank Handle

Some metal parts may
have sharp edges on
them after they are
formed. Please examine
the edges of all metal
parts before handling
them. Failure to do so
could result in injury.

Switch Pedestal

Turn the switch pedestal upright to install it on the
back of the shaper. Have another person hold it
in place, then reach inside and thread the nuts
onto the bolts.
