To type with the soft keyboard:
Action
1 Tap the arrow beside the Input Panel button, then tap
Keyboard.
2 Enter text by tapping the appropriate characters.
To type a single uppercase letter or symbol, tap the
Shift key. To tap multiple uppercase letters or
symbols, tap the CAP key.
For uppercase, tap and hold the stylus on a key, then
drag up.
To add a space, tap and hold any key, then drag the
stylus to the right across at least 2 others.
To backspace 1 character, tap and hold any key, then
drag the stylus to the left across at least 2 others.
To insert a carriage return, tap and hold the stylus
anywhere on the keyboard and drag down.
