Installing Double-Wide PCIe Video Cards
Double-wide PCIe video cards require special attention when being
installed into the EB2 chassis. Not only do they require proper cooling,
but we must also ensure adequate power for them to operate optimally.
After verifying that the built-in power supply can adequately power the
video card, connect it into the lower PCIe slot and be sure to connect
the appropriate auxiliary power connector to the card as follows:
IMPORTANT
Double-wide video cards require
proper air circulation in order to
remain cool. For that purpose
the chassis has a special
ventilation cutout behind the
cards’ fan. Blocking it from the
outside should therefore be
avoided whenever possible.
Connect the auxiliary power
connector here.
In any case of discrepancies
between the sample card
shown here and the one to be
installed, please follow the
card vendors’ installation
instructions.
