QP3TY — INITIAL START-UP (ENGINE)
DO NOT attempt to operate the pump
until the Safety, General Information and
Inspection sections of this manual have
been
read and thoroughly
understood .
This section is intended to assist the operator with the initial
start-up of the trash pump. It is extremely important that this
section be read carefully before attempting to use the pump in
the field.

Starting the Engine ( YANMAR engine)
2. Open the fuel cock (Figure 7).
3. Move the engine speed lever to the START position
(Figure 8).

5. Push down decompression lever (Figure 10) and
release.
6. Pull the starter grip again, hard and fast, pulling it all the
way out to start engine.
7. If the engine does not start, repeat steps 4 to 6.

Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against the engine.
Return it gently to prevent damage to the starter.

ALWAYS run engine at full speed while pumping.
4. Grasp the starter grip (Figure 9) and slowly pull it out until
you feel the strongest resistance then return the starter grip
to the initial position.
