8-2. Servicing Air Cleaner

Stop engine.
NOTICE − Do not run engine with-
out air cleaner or with dirty element.

Precleaner
2 Paper Element

Do not wash paper element or
clean with compressed air.
Remove cover.
Wash precleaner with soap and wa-
ter solution. Allow precleaner to air
dry completely.
Dip precleaner in clean engine oil.
Squeeze out excess oil. The engine
will smoke if precleaner contains
too much oil.
Replace paper element if dirty, oily,
or damaged.
