Software for CDROM — The Optical Disk Drive you’ve purchased does not
require any special software drivers to operate as a standard CDROM
device.
The DVD/CDRW drive requires CD writing software to write onto a CDR/
RW disc for CD authoring. While Microsoft Windows XP includes CD
writing features and may be sufficient for your needs, the additional CD
writing software contains advanced features beyond those offered by
Windows XP. In addition, the DVD/MPEG software is required to view
video DVDs.
