What if the oil/fat has an unpleasant odor or smokes when heated?
Possible fault
Solution
The oil/fat needs to be changed.

Use oil or fat specifically labeled as
being suitable for deep frying.
What is the food is not crisp or golden?
Possible fault
Solution
The temperature is not high enough.
