PREPARING THE MICROWAVE OVEN

Each individual microwave oven is checked at the factory, but for safety’s
sake, after unpacking the oven, you should check carefully that the
microwave oven has not been damaged during transport. Check whether
there is any visible damage (e.g. in the form of dents or similar), that the
oven door closes properly, and that the hinges are in order. If it appears
that the microwave oven has been damaged, you must contact the shop
where you bought it, and do not use it until it has been checked by an
authorised specialist.

Before using the microwave oven, you should check that you have
removed all packaging from it both inside and outside.

Positioning the microwave

The microwave oven can be built-in to a kitchen unit or stand on a
worktop. Follow the instructions in "Fitting the microwave oven" if it is to
be built-in and the instructions below if it is to stand on a worktop or other
surface.

The microwave oven must stand on a flat surface capable of bearing
its weight.

There must be a clearance of at least 10 cm at the rear of the
microwave oven, 5 cm from the sides and 20 cm from the top to
ensure sufficient ventilation.

Connecting the microwave oven

The microwave oven must be connected to a 230-volt AC current, 50 Hz.
The guarantee is not valid if the microwave oven is connected to the wrong
voltage. When the oven is connected to the mains electricity, the display
will show (4) "1:01". The two dots between the figures will start to flash,
which means the clock is functioning.

Setting the clock

Press the CLOCK (e) button. Please note: This is a 12 hour clock.

Turn the TIME/MENU (i) dial to set hours.

Press the CLOCK button.

Turn the TIME/MENU (i) dial to set minutes.

Press the CLOCK button to complete the setting.

If you accidentally press the STOP/CANCEL (g) button while setting the
clock, the microwave oven will return automatically to its previous status.

Inserting the glass turntable

Before using the microwave oven, ensure the glass turntable is seated
correctly on the turntable ring and on its shaft (2). The glass turntable must
lie on top of the turntable ring in the recess of the microwave oven base, so
that the three studs on the turntable shaft fit between those on the base of
the glass turntable.

Before using the microwave oven for the first time

The first time the microwave oven is used, a small amount of smoke and
smell may be emitted. This is due to oil residue from manufacture and is
neither abnormal nor dangerous. Smells can be eliminated by starting the
grill program and letting it run for a few minutes. Smells and smoke should
disappear as a result. Repeat the procedure if this is not the case.

OPERATING THE MICROWAVE OVEN

Basic operation

Place the food to be cooked in the microwave oven and close the
door. Select cooking function and time as described below and start
the microwave oven.

Once the cooking time set has elapsed, the oven will switch off
automatically. The display will show "0:00" and 3 beeps will sound.

Cooking can be temporarily interrupted at any time by pressing the
STOP/CANCEL button. If you press the button twice, the cooking time
and the program selected will be cancelled.
o Cooking can also be temporarily interrupted by opening the door
(practical if the food needs turning).
o When cooking is temporarily interrupted, the display will show the
remaining cooking time.
o Temporarily disrupted cooking will be restarted when the oven door
is closed (if it has been opened) and pressing the START (h) button.

To show the time during cooking, press the CLOCK button. The time
will be shown for approx. 5 seconds before the remaining cooking
time is shown again.

During cooking using a program, 30 seconds can be added to the
cooking time at any time by pressing the START button (with the
exception of defrost and auto menu).

NB! The oven door opening button (j) can be a little stiff, which means it
may be necessary to push it extra hard to get the oven door to open.

Express cooking

Express cooking takes place at full microwave power for the number of
minutes you set.
1.

Press the Start button to start 30 seconds of cooking. The display will
show the remaining time. Every time you press the button, the actual
cooking time will be extended by 30 seconds (max. 12 minutes).
