from

client

to

define

itself

to

the

library

manager.

If

the

storage

agent

is

unable

to

define

itself

to

the

library

manager,

the

storage

agent

must

be

defined

manually

using

the

DEFINE

SERVER

command

issued

from

the

library

manager.

For

example:

define

server

storagnt

serverpassword=fun4me

hladdress=agent.tucson.ibm.com

lladdress=1500

4.

Configure

a

path

to

the

library

manager.

If

you

need

information

about

the

commands,

see

the

Administrator’s

Reference.

If

you

are

using

a

shared

ACSLS

library

manager,

configure

a

path

to

the

library

manager.

This

involves

the

following

steps:

a.

Define

a

library

type

of

ACSLS.

For

example:

define

library

libmgr1

libtype=ACSLS

shared=YES

primarymanager=tsmsrvr

b.

Define

a

path

from

the

server

to

the

library

manager.

For

example:

define

path

tsmsrver

libmgr1

srctype=server

desttype=library

c.

Define

a

device

class

with

a

device

type

of

SERVER.

For

example:

define

devclass

adeviceclassname

library=alibraryname

devtype=server

servername=tsmsrvr

d.

Define

the

storage

pool.

For

example:

define

stgpool

apoolname

adeviceclassname

pooltype=primary

If

you

are

using

an

ACSLS-managed

external

library,

configure

a

path

to

the

external

library

manager.

This

involves

the

following

steps:

a.

Define

a

library

type

of

EXTERNAL.

For

example:

define

library

stk-lib

libtype=external

Note

that

if

a

library

name

remains

constant

but

the

library

type

changes

from

EXTERNAL

to

shared

ACSLS,

the

storage

agent

must

be

stopped

and

restarted

in

order

to

recognize

this

change.

b.

Define

a

path

from

the

server

to

the

external

manager.

Gresham

EDT-DistribuTAPE

is

the

external

library

manager

interfacing

with

the

ACSLS

library

software.

The

EDT

executable

is

located

in

its

default

path

/usr/lpp/dtelm/bin/elm.

For

example:

define

path

tsmsrver

stk-lib

srctype=server

desttype=library

externalmanager=/usr/lpp/dtelm/bin/elm

In

the

previous

example,

the

path

provided

for

the

external

manager

depends

on

the

operating

system

where

the

Tivoli

Storage

Manager

server

resides.

For

example:

v

A

Linux

Tivoli

Storage

Manager

server

external

manager

path

is

/usr/dtelm/bin/elm.

v

A

Sun

Solaris

Tivoli

Storage

Manager

server

external

manager

path

is

/opt/OMIdtelm/bin/elm.

v

A

Windows

Tivoli

Storage

Manager

server

external

manager

path

is

c:\program

files\GES\EDT\bin\elm.exe.

c.

Define

a

device

class

with

a

device

type

of

ECARTRIDGE.

For

example:

define

devclass

adeviceclassname

library=alibraryname

devtype=ecartridge

format=drive

Note:

When

you

are

using

StorageTek

9840B

tape

devices

with

the

z/OS

data

manager

server,

the

FORMAT

attribute

of

the

device

class

must

match

the

device

type

of

the

tape

drive

(that

is,

9840B).

d.

Define

the

storage

pool.

For

example:
