SPK.SETTING menu

This menu can be selected only when [ANALOG OUT] in the
[AUDIO] preference display is set to [MULTI CHANNEL].

MODE

You can select the speaker configuration type according to your
speaker systems.

Setting options

5.1 CH., EXPERT
[5.1 CH.]:
select when you connect the player to a 5.1-channel

amplifier and use the front, surround (rear), center and sub-
woofer speakers.

[EXPERT]: select when you want to make fine tuning to match

your speakers. The SIZE, DELAY, and LEVEL setting items are
available.

SIZE

You can set the speaker sizes according to your speakers.
See page 37 for how to set the speaker sizes.

DELAY

You can set the speaker delay time according to your speakers.
See page 37 for how to set the speaker delay time.

LEVEL

You can set the speaker output level according to your speakers.
See page 38 for how to set the speaker output level.

NOTE

If you connect the player’s digital output to an external Dolby
Digital or DTS decoder, and set [DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT] in
the [AUDIO] preference display to [STREAM/PCM], the above
settings are not effective.
Make the speaker settings of the external decoder properly.

OTHERS menu

RESUME

You can select the resume playback mode.
See page 14 for details about the resume playback function.

Setting options

ON, OFF, DISC RESUME
[ON]:
when selected, the player can resume playback of the disc

from the position where playback was last interrupted, if the
disc is still in the disc tray.

[OFF]: when selected, the resume function is deactivated.
[DISC RESUME]: when selected, the player can resume

playback of the last 30 discs played. The player retains a
memory of the interrupted positions of the last 30 discs played,
even though they have been removed from the disc tray.

ON SCREEN GUIDE

The player can display “on-screen guide” icons or characters on
the picture, which show what is happening to the disc or the
player.

Example of “on-screen guide” icons:

ON, OFF
[ON]:
when selected, the on-screen guide is activated.

AUTO STANDBY

When the player is stopped for more than 30 minutes or 60
minutes, the player enters standby mode automatically.

60, 30, OFF

AV COMPULINK MODE

This item is provided for use in the future. Leave it as the default
setting (“DVD 1”).

PARENTAL LOCK

When this option is selected, pressing ENTER on the remote
control unit brings up the [PARENTAL LOCK] display shown
below. This allows you to restrict children from playing DVD
VIDEO discs.
