4-3 Superimposed Character Information

Types of time data

Video signal output from the SDI (J-H3 only), HD
SDI (J-H3 only), COMPOSITE, COMPONENT (Y/
Pb/Pr), D3 or MONITOR connectors contains
superimposed character information (overlaid display),
including time code, menu settings, or alarm
messages.

For details on the settings for superimposed display,
see “DISPLAY INFORMATION SELECT,” basic
menu item 005 on page 5-7, “SD CHARACTER,”
basic menu item 027 on page 5-8, and “HD
CHARACTER,” basic menu item 028 on page 5-8.

Adjusting the character display

The basic menu adjusts the position, size and type of
the superimposed characters.

For details of the basic menu, see “5-3 Basic Menu” on
page 5-7.

Note

If the time data or user bit cannot be read correctly,
they will be displayed with an asterisk. For
example, “T*R”, “U*R”, “T*R.” or “U*R.”.

Note

The display shown on the left corresponds to the
factory default settings of the unit.
Changing the setting of DISPLAY INFORMATION
SELECT in basic menu item 005 allows different time
data to be displayed in the bottom line of the display.
