Set the focus area
You can choose from the following 2 types of autofocus:
Multi-section focus: The distance to the subject is detected by sampling from
multiple areas of the entire shooting screen.
Spot focus: The camera focuses on the subject in the center of the LCD
monitor.

Display an EXPERT Mode Shooting
Setting Screen (see page 94).

Select the desired focus method
from the spot focus menu, and press
the SET button.
j : Multi-section focus is selected.
i : Spot focus is selected.

When the spot focus setting is
selected, the focus mark + appears in
the center of the LCD monitor.
NOTE

It may be difficult to focus if there is little contrast in the subject or if the
subject is very small.
