Mechanical sound is heard from the subwoofer
or the recorder when no disc is played.
, The recorder and the subwoofer have ventilation
fans, which operate when the power is on.
Mechanical sound may also be heard when the
disc spins. These are operational sounds and are
not malfunctions.

, Internal fans rotate faster as temperature
increases. This is not a malfunction.
“NOT IN USE” appears in the front panel
display when FM/AM, 2 +/–, etc., is pressed.
, Check the connection between the recorder and
subwoofer.
, Turn on the subwoofer (the ON/STANDBY
indicator on the subwoofer lights up in green).
“AMP PROTECT” appears in the front panel
display, and the ON/STANDBY indicator on the
subwoofer flashes in red.
, Amplifier section in the system is
malfunctioning. Disconnect the subwoofer
mains lead, and then reconnect the mains lead
after about two minutes.
Self-diagnosis Function
(When letters/numbers
appear in the display)
When the self-diagnosis function is activated to
prevent the recorder from malfunctioning, a five-
character service number (e.g., C 13 00) with a
combination of a letter and four numbers appears
in the front panel display. In this case, check the
following table.
