To Reheat Toasted Food
Will your toasted food be ready before you are ready to eat it? This feature will allow
you to reheat your toasted food.
Using the Reheat Feature:
1.Press the Reheat button. If desired, press food select. (Figure G)
The Reheat indicator will light and the toaster will reheat your food.
2.Press the bread carriage lever down to begin the cycle.
Using the Food Select Features (Bagel, Pastry, Waffle)
Not all models include all options. Please refer to chart.
Your SUNBEAM
® Toaster will adjust the timing according to your food and shade selection.
You must select which type of food you are toasting so that the toaster can adjust accordingly.
To select the food type:
Choose between the Bagel, Pastry or Waffle mode.
• If you would like to toast bread, make certain that the Bagel, Pastry or Waffle indicators
are not lit. If they are unlit, then the toaster is set to toast bread.
If either indicator is lit, press the corresponding button to deselect the food type and then
the toaster will be set to toast bread. Toast is the default setting.
• Press the Bagel button if you are going to toast a bagel. The Bagel indicator will light.
This option will allow the toaster to adjust the time needed to toast bagels according to
the shade level selected. (Figure H)
• Press the Pastry button if you are going to toast a pastry. The Pastry indicator will light.
This option will allow the toaster to adjust the time needed to toast pastries according
to the shade level selected.
• Press the Waffle button if you are going to toast a waffle. The Waffle indicator will light.
This option will allow the toaster to adjust the time needed to toast waffles according
to the shade level selected.
Using the Cancel Function
To cancel the toast process:
Press the Cancel button. The toaster will stop toasting immediately and the food will pop up
automatically. (Figure I)
Helpful Toasting Tips
Inserting the food into the bread slots and toasting.
Now you are ready to insert your food into the bread slots. Keep the following tips in mind
when inserting your food.
• Most types of breads and pastries can be toasted, such as bagels, tea cakes, thickly sliced
breads, English muffins, waffles, etc. Slices should not, however, be so thick as to jam the
bread slots.
• When toasting two slices at a time, the slices should be of equal size and freshness to ensure
even toasting.
• When toasting one slice of bread, place the slice in the center of either bread slot.
After you insert the food into the bread slots:
1. Press the bread carriage lever down until it locks. (Figure J)
The auto-adjusting, stainless steel bread guides will automatically center the food
for even browning.
Tip: Your toaster has been designed for optimum toast balance. Some elements
on the inside of the toaster may glow more brightly than others when in use.
This is part of normal toaster operation.
When the toasting has completed, the food will pop up automatically. The bread carriage
lever will return to its original position and the indicator lights will turn off.
2. Use the bread lift feature to carefully remove the toasted food from the bread slots.
WARNING: Toasted food can be very hot, especially pastry fillings. Handle with care.
Tip: To remove food jammed in the bread slots, unplug the toaster
and remove the food once the toaster has cooled down.
WARNING: Never insert your fingers or metallic utensils into the bread slots.
Cleaning Your Toaster
After use and before cleaning, unplug the toaster power cord from the power outlet and
wait for the toaster to cool.
1. Wipe the outside of the toaster with a damp cloth and then dry it with another cloth
or paper towel. Do not use abrasive cleaners; they will damage the toaster’s finish.
WARNING: Do not use any pointed or sharp articles for cleaning the inside of the toaster;
this may damage the toaster.
2. Lightly tap the sides of the toaster to dislodge any crumbs caught in the toast chamber.
Remove the crumb tray and empty it. (Figure K) Wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth
or place it in the top rack of your dishwasher for cleaning. Be certain to put the
crumb tray back into the toaster before using the toaster again.
WARNING: Empty the crumb tray frequently. Crumbs will accumulate in the crumb tray
and could catch fire if not emptied periodically.
3. Wipe the non-stick surface on the top of the bread slots with a damp cloth and dry it
with another cloth or paper towel.

Learning About Your toaster
Not all models include all options. Please refer to Toaster Model Comparison Chart.
Toast is the default setting if no food or function select buttons are chosen.
1. Shade Selector Lever – Move the lever left or right to select how dark you would like your food
toasted; 1 is lightest, 7 is darkest.
2. Defrost Button and Indicator – Press this button if your food is frozen and then select your food
type. The toaster will automatically defrost your food and then toast it in one easy step.
3. Reheat Button and Indicator – Press this button to warm your toasted food. The indicator
will light to confirm your selection. Press the bread carriage lever down to begin the cycle.
4. Bagel Button and Indicator – Press this button if you want to toast a bagel. The indicator will
light to confirm that “Bagel” is selected.
5. Pastry Button and Indicator – Press this button if you want to toast a pastry. The indicator will
light to confirm that “Pastry” is selected.
6. Waffle Button and Indicator – Press this button if you want to toast a waffle. The indicator will
light to confirm that “Waffle” is selected.
7. Non-Stick Surface on the Top of Bread Slots – Makes cleanup easy.
8. Extra Wide Bread Slots – Extra wide slots allow you to toast bagels, thickly sliced homemade
bread, English muffins and pastries.
9. Dual, Auto-Adjusting, Chrome-plated Bread Guides – Automatically adjust to bread thickness
for even toasting.
10. Cancel Button – Press the cancel button to pop the food out of the bread slots and stop the toasting
process.

Preparing To Use Your Toaster for the First Time
If you are using your toaster for the first time, please be sure to:
1. Remove any stickers from the surface of the toaster and wipe the outside of your toaster with a
damp cloth.
2. Insert the removable crumb tray into the crumb tray slot. (Figure A)
3. Make certain that the bread carriage lever is in the up position before plugging in the toaster’s
power cord. (Figure B)
4. Select a location for the toaster. The location should be:
• A flat, heat-resistant, non-flammable surface.
• At least three inches away from walls or the back of countertops.
• At least one foot away from any cabinet or shelving that may be above the toaster.
• Away from flammable materials, such as curtains and wall fabric.
• Away from a gas stove flame or electric element.
5. Adjusting the Power Cord Length
Your toaster’s cord storage area allows you to adjust the length of the power cord so that it is the
exact length you desire.
To adjust the length of the power cord:
Wrap the power cord around the cord storage posts on the base of the toaster until the cord
is the length you desire. Be certain to read “Power Cord Instructions” for safety information.
Plug the power cord into 120/127 volt, 60 Hz AC outlet. (Figure C)
6. Without inserting any food into the bread slots, push the bread lever all the way down until it
locks. (The carriage will not lock if the toaster is not plugged into a power source.) (Figure D)
The first toasting process will preheat the new elements and burn off any dust which may have
accumulated during storage. It is normal for this burn off to create an odor.

® Toaster is now ready for use.
Using the Seven Toast Shade Lever
You can adjust how light or dark the toaster toasts your food. The lightest setting is 1;
the darkest setting is 7. (Figure E) Your selection should vary based on the moisture content,
thickness of bread and your darkness preference.
To select the darkness setting:
Move the Shade Selector lever left or right to the setting you desire.
Using the Defrost Food Feature
Not all models include all options. Please refer to chart.
Your toaster can defrost your frozen food and then toast it. Now you can take a frozen bagel
out of the freezer and defrost and toast it – all in your toaster, all in one easy step. (Figure F)
To defrost and toast your food:
1. Press the Defrost button if the food is frozen, then select your food type.
The Defrost indicator will light. (Figure F)
2. Press the bread carriage lever down to begin the cycle.

Preparándose para Usar Su Tostador por Primera Vez
Si va a utilizar su tostadora por primera vez, asegúrese de lo siguiente:
1. Quite cualquier calcomanía de la superficie de la tostadora y limpie la carcasa de su tostadora
con un paño húmedo.
2. Inserte la bandeja para migas desmontable en la ranura de la bandeja para migas. (Figura A)
3. Asegúrese de que la palanca para descender y tostar el alimento esté en la posición superior
antes de enchufar el cordón de potencia de la tostadora. (Figura B)
4. Elija una ubicación para la tostadora. Dicha ubicación:

• Debe estar a un mínimo de 3 pulgadas de las paredes o de la parte posterior de los mostradores.
• Por lo menos de un pie de distancia de cualquier gabinete o estante que pueden estar sobre de la tostadora.
• Debe estar alejada de los materiales inflamables tales como las cortinas o los tapizados.
• Debe estar alejada de las estufas de gas o de elementos eléctricos.
5. Ajuste de la Longitud del Cordón de Potencia
La zona de almacenamiento del cordón de su tostadora le permite ajustar la longitud de su cordón
de potencia a la longitud de su conveniencia.
Para ajustar la longitud del cordón de potencia:
Envuelva el cordón de potencia alrededor de los postes del almacenamiento del cordón en la base
de la tostadora hasta que el cordón tenga la longitud deseada. Esté seguro de haber realizado la lectura
de las “Instrucciones para el Cordón de Potencia” para la información de seguridad.
Enchufe el cordón de potencia en un tomacorrientes de 120/127 voltios, 60 Hz CA. (Figura C)
6. Sin insertar alimento alguno en las ranuras, empuje el mando de pan completamente
hacia abajo hasta engranarlo (las resistencias no quedarán engranadas si la tostadora
no está enchufada a una fuente de potencia). (Figura D)
El primer proceso de tostado precalentará los nuevos elementos y quemará cualquier polvo que se haya
acumulado durante el almacenamiento. Es perfectamente normal que dicho quemado produzca un olor.

Ajustando el Selector de Tostado Claro / Oscuro de Siete Posiciones
Usted puede ajustar el grado de oscuridad o claridad con la que la tostadora prepara sus alimentos.
La fijación más clara es el número 1; la mas oscura es el número 7. (Figura E) Su selección debe
variar según el contenido de humedad, el grosor del pan y su preferencia de color.
Para seleccionar la fijación de oscuridad:
Mueva el selector de su tostadora a la colocación deseada.
Utilizando el Distintivo para Congelados
No todos los modelos incluyen todas las opciones. Refiera por favor a la carta.
Su tostadora puede descongelar sus alimentos congelados y tostarlos enseguida. Ahora puede tomar
un bagel congelado del congelador, descongélarlo y tostarlo – todo esto en su tostadora en un solo
paso fácil.
Para descongelar y tostar sus alimentos:
1.
Presione el botón de Congelados si el alimento está congelado, luego seleccione su tipo de alimento.
Se encenderá el indicador de Congelados. (Figura F)
2. Presione la palanca para descender y tostar el alimento hacia abajo para iniciar el ciclo.
Para Calentar los Alimentos Tostados
¿Estarán listos sus alimentos tostados antes de que usted esté preparado para comerlos? El
distintivo de calefacción le permitirá calentar sus alimentos sin necesidad de mayor tostado.
Para calentar sus alimentos tostados durante un breve plazo de tiempo:
1. Presione el botón de calentar. Si lo desea, presione también las opciones de selección
de alimentos. (Figura G)
Se encenderá el indicador de calentamiento y la tostadora calentará sus alimentos.
2. Presione la palanca para descender y tostar el alimento hacia abajo para iniciar el ciclo.
Utilizando las Opciones de Selección de Alimentos (Bagel, Pastelería, Wafle)
No todos los modelos incluyen todas las opciones. Refiera por favor a la carta.
Su Tostadora SUNBEAM ® ajustará el grado de claridad/ oscuridad de sus tostadas
según la clase de alimento que vaya a tostar. Debe seleccionar primero la clase
de alimento a tostar para que la tostadora pueda realizar el ajuste correspondiente.
Para seleccionar el tipo de alimento:
Seleccione entre los modos de Bagel, Pastelería o Wafle.
• Si le gustaría tostar pan, asegúrese de que los indicadores de Bagel, Pastelería o Wafle no
estén encendidos. Si están apagados, significa que la tostadora está fijada para tostar pan.
Si cualquiera de los pilotos está encendido, presione el botón correspondiente para anular
la selección de dicho alimento y la tostadora estará lista para tostar pan. El pan tostado
es la fijación por omisión.
• Presione el botón para Bagels si va a tostar un bagel.
Se encenderá el indicador de Bagels. Esta opción ajustará el tiempo necesario para tostar
bagels con acorde al grado seleccionado de tostado “Claro/Oscuro”. (Figura H)
• Presione el botón para Pastelería si va a tostar un artículo de pastelería. Esta opción
ajustará el tiempo necesario para tostar pastelería con acorde al grado seleccionado
de tostado “Claro/Oscuro”.
Se encenderá el indicador de Pastelería.
• Presione el botón para Wafles si va a tostar un wafle.
Se encenderá el indicador de Wafles. Esta opción ajustará el tiempo necesario para tostar
wafles con acorde al grado seleccionado de tostado “Claro/Oscuro”.
Cancelando el Proceso de Tostado
Para cancelar el proceso de tostado:
Presione el botón de anulación. La tostadora dejará de tostar inmediatamente y los alimentos
se elevarán automáticamente. (Figura I)
Consejos Útiles para el Tostado
Insertando alimentos en las ranuras y la operación de tostado.
Ya está listo para insertar alimentos en las ranuras de pan. Tenga los siguientes consejos en mente
durante la inserción de sus alimentos.
• La mayoría de los panes y artículos de pastelería pueden tostarse, tales como bagels, bizcochos,
rebanadas gruesas de pan, wafles, etc. Sin embargo, las rebanadas no deben ser tan gruesas
que queden atascadas en las ranuras.
• Cuando vaya a tostar dos rebanadas a la misma vez, las rebanadas deben ser del mismo tamaño
y frescura para asegurar una tostadora uniforme.
• Cuando vaya a tostar una sola rebanada de pan, coloque la ranura en el centro de cualquiera
de las ranuras.
Después de insertar los alimentos en las ranuras:
1. Presione la palanca para descender y tostar el alimento hacia abajo hasta engranarlo. (Figura J)
Las resistencias autonivelantes y de acero inoxidable automáticamente centralizarán los
alimentos para asegurar un tostado uniforme.
Consejo: Su tostadora ha sido diseñado para un equilibro óptimo de tostado. Algunos
de los elementos dentro de la tostadora pueden brillar con más intensidad que los otros
cuando estén en uso. Esto es parte del funcionamiento normal de la tostadora.
Una vez que se haya obtenido el nivel de oscuridad deseado, el alimento se alevará
automáticamente. La palanca para descender y tostar el alimento regresará a su posición
original y se apagarán los indicadores.
2. Retire los alimentos tostados cuidadosamente de las ranuras.
ADVERTENCIA: Los alimentos tostados pueden estar sumamente calientes,
especialmente los rellenos de pastelería. Manéjelos con cuidado.
Consejo: Para extraer los alimentos atascados en las ranuras, desenchufe la tostadora
y quite los alimentos una vez que la tostadora se haya enfriado.
ADVERTENCIA: Jamás inserte los dedos ni utensilios de metal en las ranuras.
Limpiando Su Tostadora
Después del uso y antes de la limpieza, desenchufe el cordón de potencia de la tostadora
del tomacorrientes y espere a que la tostadora se enfríe.
1. Limpie el exterior de la tostadora con un paño húmedo y luego séquelo con otro paño o
papel toalla. No utilice limpiadores abrasantes, ya que dañarán el acabado de la tostadora.
ADVERTENCIA: No utilice artículos filosos o puntiagudos para limpiar el interior de la tostadora,
ya que esto puede dañarla.
2. De golpecitos ligeros a los lados de la tostadora para desalojar las migas que puedan estar
atrapadas en la cámara de tostado. Quite la bandeja para migas y vacíela. (Figura K)
Para limpiar la bandeja, hágalo con un paño húmedo colóquela sobre la rejilla superior de su
lavavajillas. Limpie la bandeja con un paño suave o colóquela en el lavavajillas para la limpieza.
Asegúrese de colocar la bandeja para migas en la tostadora de nuevo antes de hacer uso de la
tostadora.
ADVERTENCIA: Vacíe la bandeja para migas frecuentemente. Las migas se acumularán
en la bandeja para migas y pueden incendiarse si no se le vacían periódicamente.
3. Limpie la superficie anti-adherente encima de las ranuras con un paño húmedo
y séquela con otro paño o con una toalla de papel.
