the drive you want to partition. Make sure that your new
drive is selected. If you accidently repartition your old
hard drive, you will arase all data on the drive.

to select “Create DOS partition or logical DOS

drive” and then press the

ENTER

key.

again to select “Create primary DOS partition”

and then press the

ENTER

key. Create your first drive

partition.
If you are creating a partition that will be used to boot
your computer (drive C:), make sure that the partition is
marked

active

Create an extended partition and additional logical
drives, if necessary, until all the space on your new hard
drive has been partioned.

When the partitioning is complete, fdisk reboots your
computer.

Drive formatting

prompt, type format x where x is the letter of

your new partition. If this is your boot drive, type format
x: /s
. Make sure you use the correct drive letter. If you
format a drive that already contains data, you will erase
all data on the drive.

Repeat this process for all the new partitions you have
created.

After you format your new drive, it is ready to use. You’re
done!
