If the plug supplied with this
equipment has a detachable fuse
cover, be sure to attach the fuse cover
after you change the fuse. Never use
the plug without the fuse cover. If
you should lose the fuse cover,
please contact your nearest Sony
service station.

by young children or infirm persons

aligned with the +/– indicators on

2 Charge the batteries.
– For the customers in the USA,
Canada and Japan:
Flip up the power plug and insert
it into the wall outlet. (Fig. C-
a )
– For the customers in the other
countries:
Plug the appropriate end of the
power cord into the battery
charger, then plug the other end of
the power cord into the wall
outlet. (Fig. C-
b )
When charging begins, the CHARGE
lamp turns on.
When charging finishes, the
CHARGE lamp turns off .
3 After charging, disconnect the power
plug and remove the batteries.
– For the customers in the USA,
Canada and Japan:
When charging is completed, fold
the power plug and store inside
the unit.
– For the customers in the other
countries:
When unplugging the power plug,
be sure to hold the plug. Do not
pull on the cord.
Battery combinations
The charger can charge up to four HR6
(size AA) Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries
or two HR03 (size AAA) Nickel-Metal
Hydride batteries. When charging HR03
(size AAA) batteries, insert the batteries
into the inner compartment. You can
charge one battery. (You can mix HR6
(size AA) and HR03 (size AAA)
batteries.)
Charging time
HR6 (size AA) battery: one to four
batteries: About 230 minutes
HR03 (size AAA) battery: one to two
batteries: About 95 minutes
Quick charge
To charge one or two HR6 (size AA)
Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries, insert
the batteries into the outer compartment
(Fig. B-
a ) for a quick charge. (HR6
(size AA) × one – two: About 115
minutes). You cannot quick-charge the
batteries in the inner compartment. You
cannot quick-charge the HR03 (size
AAA) batteries.
Flashing CHARGE lamp
If the CHARGE lamp flashes, the charger
is not charging the batteries correctly.
Unplug the power plug, remove the
batteries, then reconnect the power plug.
If the CHARGE lamp is still flashing,
consult with qualified Sony personnel.
Do not connect the battery charger to a
voltage adaptor (travel converter) for
overseas travel. This may result in
overheating or other malfunction.
Precautions
• Use the charger near the wall outlet.
Even if the CHARGE lamp is not
turned on, the charger is still connected
to the power. If the charger
malfunctions, unplug the power plug
from the wall outlet.
• Be careful not to jar, crush, drop or
otherwise damage the battery charger.
• Do not disassemble or modify the
battery charger.
• Do not let water get on the battery
charger. Do not put any foreign objects
into the charger.
• Do not place the charger near water.
• Do not leave a battery that is charging
near small children.
• Do not use the battery charger in
environments with excessive humidity,
oily smoke or steam.
• Use only the correct type of battery.
• Make sure your hands are completely
dry before touching the battery
charger.
• Place the battery charger on a stable
foundation.
• Do not touch the battery charger or the
batteries while the charger is charging.
• Do not cover the battery charger, for
example with a cloth or a cushion.
• Do not charge fully charged batteries.
• Do not charge the battery by reversing
the polarities.
Notes on using the battery
charger
• Charging
– Do not use batteries that have not
been approved for use by Sony.
Unapproved batteries may leak or
explode.

– Insert the batteries into the battery
charger compartment properly.
– You may hear a sound during the
charging period. This “charging”
sound is normal and not a
malfunction.
• Charging temperature
To maximizing charging capability,
charge the batteries where the ambient
temperature is between 10ºC to 30ºC
(50ºF to 86ºF). The lower the
temperature, the longer is will take to
charge.
• Locations
Do not install or store the battery
charger in locations with the following
conditions:
– Locations with extremes of
temperature
In direct sunlight or in closed
automobiles during the summer
months, the ambient temperature
may be very hot, causing deformation
or malfunction of the unit.
– Locations in direct sunlight or near
heaters
– Locations subject to vibration
– Locations subject to strong
magnetism
– Locations subject to dust or sand
If you use the battery charger, for
example, on a beach or in a desert,
make sure that you keep the battery
charger away from any sand. A
battery charger that is covered with
sand may malfunction.
• Usage
– Do not use the battery charger in
locations that are subject to strong
magnetism or radio waves.
– When the battery charger finishes
charging, remove the batteries to
protect them.
– Do not jar or drop the battery
charger.
– Because the battery charger may
cause noise, do not use it near
televisions or AM radio tuners.
– Do not allow metal to come in contact
with the connecting part of the
battery charger. A short may occur.
– Make sure the batteries are properly
seated in the compartment so that the
connecting part of the unit does not
become damaged.
• Servicing
– To clean the battery charger, use a
soft cloth or tissue paper.
– If needed, use a soft cloth dampened
with diluted mild detergent, then
wipe the unit with dry cloth.
– Do not use alcohol, thinner, benzene,
etc. to clean the battery charger.
Using these chemicals may damage
the battery charger.
– If you use a chemically treated
cleaning cloth, follow the
instructions.
– Do not spray volatile material such as
pesticide on the battery charger. Do
not let rubber or vinyl touch the
battery charger. Doing so may
damage the charger.
Notes on the power plug
• Do not touch the power plug during
thunderstorms.
• Make sure to insert the power plug in
the wall outlet properly.
• If you are not going to be using the
battery charger, unplug the power
plug.
• When you service the battery charger,
unplug the power plug.
If any difficulty should arise, unplug the
unit and contact your nearest Sony dealer.

3 Une fois la charge terminée,
débranchez la prise secteur et retirez
les piles.
– Pour les utilisateurs aux Etats-
Unis, au Canada et au Japon :
Lorsque le chargement est terminé,
repliez la fiche d’alimentation vers
l’intérieur du boîtier.
– Pour les utilisateurs des autres
pays :
Débranchez le cordon
d’alimentation en tirant sur la
fiche. Ne tirez pas sur le cordon
d’alimentation.
Combinaisons de piles
Ce chargeur peut recharger jusqu’à
quatre piles NiMH HR6 (taille AA) ou
deux piles NiMH HR03 (taille AAA).
Pour recharger des piles HR03 (type
AAA), insérez-les dans le compartiment
intérieur. Vous ne pouvez recharger
qu’une pile à la fois. (Vous pouvez
mélanger les piles HR6 (type AA) et
HR03 (type AAA).)

Pile HR6 (type AA) : de une à quatre
piles : environ 230 minutes

Chargement rapide
Pour charger une ou deux piles NiMH
HR6 (taille AA), insérez les piles dans le

Témoin de chargement CHARGE
clignotant
Le témoin de chargement CHARGE
clignote lorsque le chargement ne
s’effectue pas correctement. Dans ce cas,
débranchez la fiche d’alimentation,
retirer les piles, puis rebranchez la fiche
d’alimentation. Si le témoin de
chargement CHARGE clignote toujours,
contactez un technicien SONY qualifié.
Si vous voyagez à l’étranger, n’utilisez
pas le chargeur avec un adaptateur de
tension (adaptateur portatif). Cela peut
provoquer une surchauffe et des
dysfonctionnements.
Précautions d’emploi
• Utilisez le chargeur près de la prise
murale. Le chargeur reçoit
l’alimentation secteur même lorsque le
témoin CHARGE n’est pas allumé. Si le
chargeur présente des
dysfonctionnements, débranchez le
cordon d’alimentation de la prise
secteur.
• Evitez de heurter, de comprimer, de
laisser tomber ou d’endommager le
chargeur.
• Ne démontez pas et ne modifiez pas le
chargeur.
• Evitez de projeter de l’eau sur le
chargeur. N’introduisez pas de corps
étranger dans le chargeur.
• Ne placez pas le chargeur près de
l’eau.
• Ne laissez pas une pile en cours de
chargement près d’enfants en bas âge.
• N’utilisez pas le chargeur dans une
atmosphère chargée d’humidité, de
graisse, de fumée ou de vapeur.
• N’utilisez que les types de piles
conseillés.
• Assurez-vous que vos mains sont
sèches avant de toucher le chargeur.
• Placez le chargeur sur une surface
stable.
• En cours de chargement, ne touchez ni
le chargeur ni les piles.
• Ne couvrez pas le chargeur (par
exemple avec du tissu ou un coussin).
• Ne rechargez pas des piles déjà
chargées.
• Ne rechargez pas les piles en inversant
la polarité.
Remarques sur l’utilisation du
chargeur
• Chargement
– N’utilisez pas de piles qui ne sont pas
approuvées par Sony. Les piles qui ne
sont pas approuvées peuvent fuir ou
exploser.

• Température lors du chargement
Pour optimiser la capacité de
chargement du chargeur, chargez les
piles dans une pièce où la température
se situe entre 10°C et 30°C (50°F et
86°F). Plus la température est basse,
plus le chargement est long.
• Lieux d’utilisation
N’installez et ne rangez pas le chargeur
dans les endroits suivants :
– Lieux surchauffés ou trop froids
L’appareil peut souffrir de
déformations ou de
dysfonctionnements si vous le laissez
dans une atmosphère surchauffée
comme au soleil ou en été dans une
voiture fermée.
– Lieux exposés au soleil ou près de
radiateurs
– Lieux sujets à des vibrations
– Lieux sujets à des champs
magnétiques puissants
– Lieux exposés à la poussière ou au
sable
Si vous utilisez le chargeur sur une
plage ou dans un désert, évitez qu’il
n’entre en contact avec du sable. Si le
chargeur est recouvert de sable, il peut
présenter des dysfonctionnements.
• Utilisation
– N’utilisez pas le chargeur dans des
lieux sujets à des ondes radio ou des
champs magnétiques puissants.
– Lorsque le chargement est terminé,
retirez les piles pour les protéger.
– Ne heurtez pas et ne laissez pas
tomber le chargeur.
– N’utilisez pas le chargeur à proximité
de postes de télévision ou de
récepteurs radio car il peut
provoquer des parasites.
– Ne laissez pas d’objets métalliques en
contact avec les bornes de
chargement du chargeur. Cela peut
provoquer un court-circuit.
– Assurez-vous que les piles sont
correctement installées dans le
compartiment afin que les bornes de
chargement du boîtier ne soient pas
endommagées.
• Entretien
– Nettoyez le chargeur à l’aide d’un
chiffon doux ou d’un mouchoir en
papier.
– Si nécessaire, utilisez un chiffon doux
humidifié avec un détergent dilué,
puis séchez soigneusement le boîtier
avec un chiffon sec.
– N’utilisez pas d’alcool, de diluant, de
benzine, etc. pour nettoyer le
chargeur. Ces produits peuvent
endommager le chargeur.
– Si vous utilisez un chiffon de
nettoyage contenant des produits
chimiques, reportez-vous aux
instructions qui l’accompagnent.
– Ne vaporisez pas sur le chargeur de
substances volatiles telles que des
pesticides. Ne laissez pas de matières
caoutchoutées ou vinyles en contact
avec le chargeur. Cela peut
endommager le chargeur.

der Regel dann, wenn das Gerät
abschaltet und signalisiert „Batterie leer“
oder nach längerer Gebrauchsdauer der
Batterien „nicht mehr einwandfrei
funktioniert“. Um sicherzugehen, kleben
Sie die Batteriepole z.B. mit einem
Klebestreifen ab oder geben Sie die
Batterien einzeln in einen Plastikbeutel.

1 Legen Sie HR6-Nickel-Metall-
Hydrid-Akkus (Größe AA) oder
HR03-Nickel-Metall-Hydrid-Akkus
(Größe AAA) von Sony
polaritätsrichtig ein, so dass die
Markierungen +/– auf den Akkus
mit den Markierungen +/– im
Ladegerät übereinstimmen. (Abb.

2 Laden Sie die Akkus.
– Für Kunden in den USA, Kanada
und Japan:
Klappen Sie den Netzstecker nach
oben und stecken Sie ihn in eine
Netzsteckdose. (Abb. C-
a )
– Für Kunden in anderen Ländern:
Stecken Sie das passende Ende des
Netzkabels in das Ladegerät und
das andere Ende in eine
Netzsteckdose. (Abb. C-
b )
Wenn der Ladevorgang beginnt,
schaltet sich die Anzeige CHARGE
ein.
Wenn der Ladevorgang endet,
schaltet sich die Anzeige CHARGE
aus.
3 Ziehen Sie nach dem Laden den
Netzstecker aus der Netzsteckdose
und nehmen Sie die Akkus heraus.
– Für Kunden in den USA, Kanada
und Japan:
Klappen Sie den Netzstecker
wieder in das Gerät ein, wenn der
Ladevorgang beendet ist.
– Für Kunden in anderen Ländern:
Ziehen Sie beim Herausziehen des
Netzkabels immer am Stecker, nie
am Kabel selbst.
Geeignete Akkus
Mit diesem Ladegerät können Sie bis zu
vier HR6-Nickel-Metall-Hydrid-Akkus
(Größe AA) oder zwei HR03-Nickel-
Metall-Hydrid-Akkus (Größe AAA)
laden. Wenn Sie HR03-Akkus (Größe
AAA) laden, legen Sie die Akkus in die
inneren Fächer ein. Sie können auch
einen einzelnen Akku laden. Sie können
auch HR6- (Größe AA) und HR03-Akkus
(Größe AAA) zusammen laden.
Ladedauer
HR6-Akku (Größe AA): ein bis vier
Akkus: ca. 230 Minuten
HR03-Akku (Größe AAA): ein bis zwei
Akkus: ca. 95 Minuten
Schnelles Laden
Wenn Sie einen oder zwei HR6-Nickel-
Metall-Hydrid-Akkus (Größe AA) laden
wollen, legen Sie die Akkus zum
schnellen Laden in die äußeren Fächer
ein (Abb. B-
a ). HR6 (Größe AA) × eins
- zwei: ca. 115 Minuten. Sie können die
Akkus in den inneren Fächern nicht
schnell laden. Sie können keine HR03-
Akkus (Größe AAA) schnell laden.
Wenn die Anzeige CHARGE blinkt
Wenn die Anzeige CHARGE blinkt, lädt
das Ladegerät die Akkus nicht richtig.
Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der
Steckdose, nehmen Sie die Akkus heraus
und stecken Sie den Stecker dann wieder
ein. Wenn die Anzeige CHARGE noch
immer blinkt, wenden Sie sich bitte an
qualifiziertes Fachpersonal von Sony.
Schließen Sie das Ladegerät nicht an
einen Spannungsadapter (Reiseadapter)
für Überseereisen an. Dies könnte zu
einer Überhitzung des Geräts oder
anderen Fehlfunktionen führen.
Sicherheitsmaßnahmen
• Verwenden Sie das Ladegerät in der
Nähe einer Netzsteckdose. Auch wenn
die Anzeige CHARGE nicht
eingeschaltet ist, ist das Ladegerät mit
dem Stromnetz verbunden. Ziehen Sie
bei Fehlfunktionen des Ladegeräts den
Netzstecker aus der Netzsteckdose.
• Schützen Sie das Ladegerät unbedingt
vor Stößen und lassen Sie es nicht
fallen. Schützen Sie es auch vor
anderweitigen Beschädigungen.
• Zerlegen Sie das Ladegerät nicht und
nehmen Sie keine Veränderungen
daran vor.
• Schützen Sie das Ladegerät vor Nässe.
Achten Sie darauf, dass keine
Fremdkörper in das Ladegerät geraten.
• Stellen Sie das Ladegerät nicht in der
Nähe von Wasser auf.
• Halten Sie einen Akku, der gerade
geladen wird, von kleinen Kindern
fern.
• Verwenden Sie das Ladegerät nicht an
Orten, die übermäßiger Feuchtigkeit,
Ruß oder Dampf ausgesetzt sind.
• Verwenden Sie ausschließlich die
richtigen Akkkutypen.
• Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Ihre
Hände vollständig trocken sind, bevor
Sie das Ladegerät berühren.
• Stellen Sie das Ladegerät auf eine
stabile Oberfläche.
• Berühren Sie das Ladegerät oder die
Akkus nicht, solange der Ladevorgang
läuft.
• Decken Sie das Ladegerät nicht mit
einem Tuch oder Kissen o. ä. ab.
• Versuchen Sie nicht, vollständig

Hinweise zum Gebrauch des
Ladegeräts
• Laden
– Verwenden Sie keine Akkus, die von
Sony nicht geprüft und genehmigt
wurden. Solche Akkus können
auslaufen oder explodieren.
Mangan Alkali
– Legen Sie die Akkus richtig in die
Fächer im Ladegerät ein.
– Während des Ladevorgangs ist
möglicherweise ein leises Geräusch
zu hören. Dies ist normal und keine
Fehlfunktion.
• Ladetemperatur
Um die maximale Ladekapazität zu
erzielen, laden Sie die Akkus bei
Umgebungstemperaturen zwischen
10ºC und 30ºC. Je niedriger die
Temperatur, desto länger dauert der
Ladevorgang.
• Ort
Verwenden oder lagern Sie das
Ladegerät nicht an Orten, die
folgenden Bedingungen ausgesetzt
sind:
– extremen Temperaturen
In direktem Sonnenlicht oder im
Sommer in geschlossenen
Fahrzeugen kann die
Umgebungstemperatur sehr hoch
sein und zu einer Verformung oder
Fehlfunktionen des Geräts führen.
– direktem Sonnenlicht oder der
Wärme von Heizungen
– Erschütterungen
– starken Magnetfeldern
– Staub oder Sand
Wenn Sie das Ladegerät
beispielsweise am Strand oder in der
Wüste verwenden, halten Sie es
unbedingt von Sand fern. Bei Sand
auf dem Ladegerät kann es zu
Fehlfunktionen kommen.
• Gebrauch
– Verwenden Sie das Ladegerät nicht
an Orten, die starken Magnetfeldern
oder Radiowellen ausgesetzt sind.
– Wenn der Ladevorgang beendet ist,
nehmen Sie die Akkus zum Schutz
heraus.
– Beschädigen Sie das Ladegerät nicht
und lassen Sie es nicht fallen.
– Das Ladegerät kann Störungen
verursachen. Verwenden Sie es daher
nicht in der Nähe von Fernsehgeräten
oder AM-Radio-Tunern.
