Adjusting riding sag b

ದ Remove shock absorber. ( P. 36)
ದ After removing the shock absorber, clean it thoroughly.
ದ Choose and fit a suitable spring.

The spring rate is shown on the outside of the spring.
Smaller weight differences can be compensated by changing the spring preload.

ದ Adjust the rebound damping of the shock absorber. ( P. 33)

ದ Jack up the motorcycle. ( P. 32)

ದ Remove screw b  and lower the rear wheel with the swing arm as far as possible
without blocking the rear wheel. Fix the rear wheel in this position.
ದ Remove screw b  , push splash protector b  to the side, and remove the shock ab-
sorber.

Installing shock absorber b

ದ Check parts for damage and wear. Replace damaged or worn parts.
ದ Push splash protector b  to the side and position the shock absorber. Mount and
tighten screw b  .

Info
The heim joint for the shock absorber at the swing arm is Teflon coated. It
must not be greased with grease or with other lubricants. Lubricants dis-
solve the Teflon coating, thereby drastically reducing the service life.
