Condition
Engine is cold.
ದ Remove gear oil level check screw b  . Stand the vehicle upright.
ದ Check the gear oil level.
A small amount of gear oil should flow out.
» If no gear oil flows out:
ದ Top up with gear oil. ( P. 83)
ದ Mount and tighten the gear oil level check screw.

Danger of scalding ಘEngine oil and gear oil get very hot when the motocycle is driven.
ದ Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves. If you scald yourself, hold the affected area under cold water immediately.

ದ Dispose of oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaning substances, brake fluid, batteries, etc. according to regulations.

Drain the gear oil only when the engine is warm.
ದ Stand the motorcycle on its side stand on a horizontal surface.

ದ Place a suitable container under the engine.
ದ Remove the gear oil drain plug b  .
ದ Remove the gear oil screen plug b  .
ದ Completely drain the gear oil.
ದ Thoroughly clean the gear oil drain plug with a magnet.
ದ Thoroughly clean the drain plug and gear oil screen with a magnet.
ದ Clean the sealing surface on the engine.
ದ Check parts for damage and wear. Replace damaged or worn parts.
ದ Refit gear oil drain plug b  with seal ring and tighten it.
Specification
Gear oil drain plug with magnet M12x1,5 20 bNm

ದ Fit the plug b  for the gear oil screen and tighten it.
