Operation

To pause recording

(Main unit only)

÷ Pressing the key pauses recording after leaving a non-

recorded space of about 4 seconds.

÷ If the key is pressed again in less than 4 seconds after it has

been pressed, recording resumes from that instant.

REC/ARM

÷ This unit cannot record on a high-position (Type II) tape or metal

tape.

÷ Remove tape slack before loading.

÷ When recording is started, the tape is transported in the

direction selected in this step.

÷ Wind the tape to the position where recording is to be started.

Check the tape transport direction indicator.

The input source component
to be recorded should be dis-
played.

÷ If a disc has already been loaded when the CD input is

selected, it will starts to play automatically. In this case,
press the stop (

7) key to stop it.

÷ Even if deck A is selected, it is automatically switched to deck

B at the start of recording.

÷ Recording stops automatically when the tape side(s) to be

recorded have been fully recorded.

÷ Press the stop (7) key of the cassette deck unit to stop recording.

÷ When the 2 transport direction indicator is lit, recording

always stops after having recorded one side of tape.

When Recording from a CD

Beat cancel function

There may be cases in which beat noise interferes with
recording of AM (MW)/LW broadcasting.
Switch to "Beat Cancel" before recording the program
you want to record. Make a trial recording and then
record where the transmission noise is lowest.

Recording (Deck B only)

The unit is equipped with handy functions for recording

from a CD. For details, refer to page 29.

1 Start recording an AM broadcast.

2 Press the Tape A/B key.

3 Listen to the sound on the trial re-

cording and select the best sound.
