2. Highlight a Direct Connect entry and press and release the DC button.

3. Continue the Direct Connect call as described previously.

Tip: To redial your most recent Direct Connect call, press and hold the DC button.

Make a Direct Connect Call Using a Speed Dial Number

From standby mode, enter a speed dial number and press the DC button.

Make a Direct Connect Call With the Phone Closed

1. Press and hold the external speaker button to unlock the keyguard if the buttons are

locked. See

2. Press and hold the external speaker button until you see

―DC Speaker mode on‖ on the

external display.

3. Press and release the DC button to display the History on the external display.

4. Use the volume button to scroll through the list and highlight an entry.

5. Press and hold the DC button to begin talking.

Tip: If you see the incoming caller

‘s information on the external display, but you cannot hear

the caller, the audio is being routed to the internal speaker. Press the external speaker
button again to route the conversation to the external speaker.

6. Press the call list button to finish the Direct Connect call.

Availability Notifications

You will receive a message when you place a Direct Connect call to a contact and that contact
is on another call. You can press the DC button to try again, or you may be able to send a
request to be notified when the contact becomes available.

To send a request:

Select Notify when available.

Follow the onscreen instructions to respond when you receive a notification.

Answer Direct Connect Calls

When you receive a Direct Connect call, you hear an incoming tone or the phone vibrates,
depending on your settings. You will see the Direct Connect number and the caller

‘s name (if

available) on your screen. You may also hear the caller

‘s voice through the speakerphone.

Default for Direct Connect calls is speakerphone on. You can turn the speakerphone off and
listen to Direct Connect calls through the earpiece as you would a regular call, or you can listen
through a headset.
