OUTPUT PROBLEMS

The engine shuts down shortly
after starting.

Check for poor electrical connec-
tions at the run/stop switch, and
the fuel shutdown solenoid. See
wiring diagram.
The fuel solenoid may be faulty.
Perform the FUEL SHUTDOWN
SOLENOID TEST.

The engine shuts down shortly
after starting and trips the battery
circuit breaker (CB5).

Try resetting the breaker. If it trips
again do not attempt to use the
machine.

Contact a Lincoln Authorized Field
Service Shop.

Repeated tripping and resetting of
the circuit breaker can damage it,
or alter its trip point. If the breaker
has been ripped and reset many
times, it should be replaced.
Examine the CB5 circuit breaker,
run/stop switch. Start button.
Shut-down and idle solenoid,
engine protection board, fuel
gauge and sender, and all the
wiring connecting these compo-
nents. Look for damaged or out of
place wiring that may be in contact
with other conductors or chassis
ground. See wiring diagram.
Perform the IDLER SOLENOID
TEST.
Perform the FUEL SHUTDOWN
SOLENOID TEST.
The Engine Protection PC Board
may be defective.
