TAKING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem

Display is blank,

even when the

power is turned

on.

The device will

not measure.

Readings are too

high or too low.

Other

Probable cause

Batteries are drained.

Battery terminals are

not in the correct

position.

The cuff is not fas-

tened properly.

You moved your arm

or body during the

measurement.

The position of your

wrist is not correct.

The blood pressure

reading is different

from that measured

at a clinic or doctor’s

office.

Corrective action

Replace with new batteries.

Place the battery with

negative and positive ter-

minals matching those

indicated in the battery

compartment.

Fasten the cuff correctly.

Make sure you remain

very still and quiet during

the measurement.

Position your wrist so it

is level with your heart,

using an arm rest if

needed.

See Pg E-12 “Why

Measure Blood Pressure

at Home?”

Remove the batteries.

Place back in correctly,

and try the measurement

again.

NOTE: If the actions described above do not solve the problem,
