Hardware Installation
This chapter explains how to install the MegaRAID SATA 150 storage
adapters. This chapter consists of the following sections:

2.1 Installation Overview
Here is a high-level overview of how to install, configure, and operate
MegaRAID SATA 150 storage controllers.
Step 1. Install the hardware. Refer to Section 2.3, “Quick Installation
Instructions,” or Section 2.4, “Detailed Installation Instructions,”
for hardware installation instructions.
Step 2. Configure the system BIOS. Refer to the system documentation
for more information.
Step 3. Run a RAID management utility to configure the Serial ATA
drives into a RAID array. Refer to the MegaRAID Configuration
Software User’s Guide for more information.
Step 4. Install the operating system driver. Refer to the MegaRAID
Device Driver Installation User’s Guide for more information.
Step 5. Install and run the MegaRAID Manager tool or the Power
Console Plus tool to manage the RAID system configuration
and performance. Refer to the MegaRAID Configuration
Software User’s Guide for more information.
