Problem Check Remedy
Library browsing is not possible. Is a medium on which library information is
recorded loaded? The library browse mode is only set when media on which library
information is recorded are loaded. When a medium on which
no library information is recorded is loaded, the folder browse
mode is set.
Is the USB device write-protected? Set the USB device so that files can be written on it.
Set the USB device’s write-protect switch to the off position.
Nothing is displayed. Is the auto standby function activated? This unit is shipped with the auto standby function turned on.
If you do not want to use the auto standby function, set [AUTO
STANDBY] to [OFF]. (page 25)
Error messages
When the CDJ-850 cannot operate normally, an error code appears on the display. Take the necessary measures, referring to the table below. If an
error code not indicated on the table below is displayed or if the same error code appears after the indicated action has been taken, contact your
store of purchase or nearby Pioneer service station.

E-8304 DECODE ERROR Music files that cannot be played normally are
loaded. Format is wrong. dReplace with music files in
the proper format. E-8305 DATA FORMAT ERROR
E-8306 NO FILE
Track recorded in the library, playlist, etc., has been
deleted from the USB device and cannot be played.
Do not delete that track from the USB device.
E-9101 MECHANICAL TIME OUT
Mechanical operation has not stopped within speci-
fied time. There is a foreign object in the disc insertion
slot.
dRemove the foreign object.
