CHAIN TENSION (Including units

with chain already installed)

WARNING

: Wear protective gloves

when handling chain. The chain is sharp and

can cut you even when it is not moving.

NOTE:

When adjusting chain tension,

make sure the bar knob is finger tight only.

Attempting to tension the chain when the bar

knob is tight can cause damage.

Checking the tension:

Use the screwdriver end of the chain adjust-

ment tool (bar tool) to move chain around

guide bar. If the chain does not rotate, it is too

tight. If the chain is too loose, it will sag below

the bar.

during use. This is especially true during the

first few times you use your saw. Always check

chain tension each time you use and refuel

your saw.

clockwise 1 turn to loosen clutch cover.
