Configuring Lines
BIDIR Settings
When the Line Service is set to BIDIR , a bidirectional connection is created, with data flowing in
both directions in its original format. This raw TCP/IP connection can be initiated from either the
Device Server or the configured host.
Configure the following parameters:
Host Name
Port
UDP Settings
When the Line Service is set to UDP , the Device Server processes UDP packets according to the
UDP settings.
Configure the following parameters:
The name of the target host.
The port number the target host is listening on for incoming connections.
Start IP Address
The first host IP address in the range of IP addresses (for IPV4 or IPV6) that
the Device Server will listen for messages from and/or send messages to.
End IP Address
The last host IP address in the range of IP addresses (for IPV4, not required for
IPV6) that the Device Server will listen for messages from and/or send
messages to.
Port
The port that the Device Server will use to receive messages from or relay
messages to servers/hosts.
