Resource Management

RMX units that are used mainly for voice (Audio Only) conferencing can

maximize the resources utilization by designating all or almost all system

resources as voice (audio) resources.
Up to 400 (RMX 1500)/ 800 (RMX 2000 with two MPM+) or 720 (RMX

2000 with two MPMx)/1600 (RMX 4000 with four MPM+/MPMx-D)

voice participants can connect to the RMX, of which up to 400 participants

can connect using PSTN/ISDN connection.

Resource Capacity

The RMX 1500 supports only MPMx cards.
The RMX 2000 can support three card types: MPM, MPM+ and MPMx.
The RMX 4000 can support two card types: MPM+ and MPMx.
MPM+ cards offer higher capacity. Three MPM+ card assemblies are

available, MPM+ 80, MPM+ 40 and MPM+ 20, offering various port

capacities.
MPMx cards offer a high capacity similar to MPM+.
Table 3-2 summarizes the resource capacities of an RMX with the various

card types.
