Connecting Your TV to the DIGITAL SOLUTION
Preamp/Processor

If you are using only standard (composite) video inputs for your video
sources and no S-video sources, connect the VIDEO TV out to any free
composite video input of your TV. If you are using only S-Video video
inputs for your video sources and no Standard (composite) sources,
connect the VIDEO TV out to any free S-Video input of your TV. If you
are using both standard composite and S-Video sources connect both
Standard and S-Video TV outputs of the Digital Solution to different
corresponding free inputs on your TV.

If you want the audio from your TV to play through the system, just
connect its audio outputs to any unused set of analog input jacks on the
Digital Solution, such as the CABLE inputs.

Connecting the Preamp/Processor to the Subwoofer

Use the supplied 4 meter (13’) audio cable to connect to the AUDIO
OUT connector of the Digital Solution preamp/processor to the AUDIO
IN 25 pin connector on the subwoofer. IMPORTANT NOTE: If the cable
is not long enough, you may add a 4 meter Monster Cable brand DB HT
Audio Interconnect cable (or equivalent) to increase the length to 8
meters (26’). Contact your Polk dealer or call Polk Audio Customer
Service (800) 638-7276, Monday through Friday, Eastern Standard
Time to order an extension cable. Do not use a computer printer cable
to connect your Digital Solution system. A printer cable will fit but will
degrade the sound quality of your system.

Connecting a SACD or DVD-Audio Player

If you have a multi-channel SACD or DVD-Audio player that also serves
as a DVD-Video and CD player, we suggest you make all of the
connections described here.

Connect the six analog outputs from the multi-channel player to the
corresponding analog 6 Channel Audio/DVD-Audio inputs on the Digital
Solution preamp/ processor. Connect the digital audio (PCM/Bitstream)
output of the player to the DVD DIGITAL AUDIO INPUTS of the DS
preamp/processor.

Also connect the stereo left and right analog audio outputs of the player
to the ANALOG DVD Left and Right inputs on the Digital Solution
preamp/processor. This will allow you to record the audio output of the
player and use the player as a stereo audio source for a remote room.

Connect either the composite video or the S-video output of the player
to the corresponding DVD VIDEO input of the Digital Solution. Do not
use both composite and S-video connections. If you use S-video
connections here, you must connect your TV to the Digital Solution
preamp/processor with an S-video cable in order to get a picture with
this input. If your DVD player has “component” video outputs (three
jacks), you must connect those directly to a TV that has corresponding
“component” video inputs.
