2. The Power Pack/Ozonator should be installed at least 5 feet from the pool edge.

3. Always mount the Power Pack/Ozonator at least 4 feet above ground level.

4. Air flow around the Power Pack/Ozonator must not be restricted or the unit otherwise heated from some other source.

POWER PACK – WIRING INSTRUCTIONS

Note: Use only a GFCI outlet electrical circuitry for all outdoor pool equipment electrical requirements.

1. The Power Pack must be electrically plugged into a 120VAC outlet supply (Fig. A-5) approved for outdoor use. Do not use
extension cords.
2. It is suggested that the Power Pack be wired to the pump controller so that both can be turned off and on at the same time.
3. The Power Pack has a second power cord that supplies the Cell with power (Fig. A-5). The Cell must never be powered to any
other cord than this cord. This cord is a two wire cord and should be connected to the two posts extending from the bottom of the
Cell.

CELL MAINTENANCE

Because of the Ozone Oxidation benefit inherent in the combined system the cell requires little or no general maintenance. We do

however, recommend that periodic inspections be made to ensure that foreign matter and other debris have not built up in and around the
Cell plates. If a Calcium deposit and build-up appears to be forming on or around the electrodes and plates, contact Prozone or your local
dealer for advice.

Note: If debris is building up around the electrodes and plates of the Cell then that would indicate a filtration problem and should

be immediately repaired. – contaminated water is by-passing the filtration system.

If Calcium is forming on the electrodes and plates the reason may be one of the following:
1. The Cell life has been spent due to a loss of plate coatings and therefore the plates can no longer produce Chlorine. Requires
replacing the cell.

2. The water quality in the pool is very poor and has a very high mineral content.

3. There is poor water flow through the Cell – check the hoses and the injector for water flow impediments.

ACID WASH FOR REMOVAL OF CALCIUM DEPOSITS ON CELL PLATES

FOR QUALIFIED POOL PROFESSIONAL ONLY

DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITHOUT PROPER TRAINING

1. First turn off the pump and allow the water to drain back out of the cell and out of the by-pass system.

CAUTION…USE PROTECTIVE EYE WEAR, GLOVES, AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

2. Disconnect the ¼” braided hose from the Venturi Injector.

3. Place a bottle of muriatic acid close to the Venturi Injector
4. Attach one end of the 2 foot section of ¼” hose provided in the parts list to the open port on the Injector, secure with clamp.
Put the other end of the hose in to the container of muriatic acid.
5. Turn the pump back on for about 1 minute, this should fill the Cell with the acid. Make sure the Cell plates are covered by at
least one inch of acid.
6. Next turn the pump off for 15 to 20 minutes to allow the solution to soak the build-up on the plates.

7. Repeat step 5. above until all the acid/water solution in the bucket has been used up.

8. The solution entering the pool will be small enough in concentration to not disturb the pH of the pool’s water.

9. Turn system back on.

Winterizing:

Just like the pool waters, freezing water may damage the Cell’s internal components and may even cause cracks in the casing thus

voiding the Warranty. If severe or extended periods of freezing temperatures are possible, then drain all the water from the pump, filter,
Cell and supply and return lines before freezing occurs.

Spring Start-up:
DO

NOT

turn on the Prozone system until the pool’s chemistry has been brought up to required levels.
