Check mounting,
belts and couplings

Check generator mounting, belts, and couplings on a periodic basis:

1. Make sure that the mounting bolts are tight and secure.
2. Check belt (if applicable) and pulleys for looseness or signs of wear.

Adjust or replace as necessary.

3. Check coupling (if applicable) for signs of wear or misalignment.

Replace/realign as needed.

Perform engine
maintenance

Perform engine maintenance as specified in the engine owner’s manual.
Engine maintenance items may include:

1. Changing oil and oil filter
2. Air filter check/replacement
3. Spark plug cleaning and replacement
4. Spark arrestor inspection and cleaning
5. Fuel filter check/replacement
6. Fuel tank cleaning
7. Fuel line inspection/replacement
8. Battery

charging/maintenance.

IMPORTANT:
If a part needs replacement, only use parts that meet the manufacturer’s specifications. Replace-
ment parts that do not meet specifications may result in a safety hazard or poor operation of the
generator.
