(continued)

Auto Mode

Place the SCENE SELECT control to AUTO to have
the camcorder control focus and set the shutter speed
to 1/60 second.

When you begin recording, the REC and PAUSE
indicators appear briefly in the viewfinder twice
their normal size.

Tape Positioning

Place POWER in VCR, and make sure the camcorder
is stopped.
• Press FF (fast forward) on camcorder or F.FWD

on remote to fast forward the tape.

• Press REW (rewind) to rewind the tape.
• Press and hold FF (fast forward) on camcorder or

F.FWD on remote (or REW) during tape
positioning to visually search the tape.

Release the button to return to fast forward or

rewind operation.

• Press STOP to stop fast forward or rewind.

MIC (Microphone) Jack

Plug an optional external microphone into the MIC
jack located behind the AV TERMINAL cover.
When a microphone is plugged into this jack, the
camcorder’s microphone is automatically turned off.

Flying Erase Head

A separate erase head is mounted on the spinning
headwheel (hence the term “flying”). This allows
you to make clean edits without the “glitches” or
“rainbow noise” that may occur at the beginning and
end of each recording.
