Troubles sometimes are caused by simple “faults” that you can easily correct without the help of a service
technician by first checking a few basic remedies.
Before you call or take your camcorder to an Authorized RCA Camcorder Servicenter, look below for the type
of trouble you are experiencing. Then perform the simple checks and adjustments listed for that trouble.
If service should be necessary, the warranty information lists what your warranty covers and explains how to
get service.

Suggested solution

• Connect power source properly.

• Charge battery pack sufficiently.

• Set Power switch to OFF and

remove battery pack; wait for two
seconds, then re-install battery

• Occurs when shooting subject with

strong contrast to the background.
Does not indicate a malfunction.

• Speaker does not work during

Camera mode. (Volume control in
Camera mode only affects
earphone volume.)

• Camcorder is unable to focus when

zooming in on subject within 5 feet
(1.5 m), and automatically zooms
out until it focuses on subject.

• No subject in the field of view.

• Counter is in memory mode.

• Video input channel on TV or TV

channel is not selected properly.

• A/ V cable is not properly connected.

• Docking Station is not properly

connected.

Symptom

No power.

REC START/STOP button
does not work.

Power suddenly turns off.

Monitor picture is hard to
see.

Auto focus does not
work.

Bright subject produces
wide vertical lines.

No audio from speaker
