The following settings can be made for the
S-Video and composite video inputs
You must use the buttons on the unit to make these set-
tings.
1. While holding down the input selector button for the
input source that you want to set, press the [SETUP]
button.
2. Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] buttons to select a
setting (see below).
3. Use the Left and Right [ ]/[ ] buttons to change
the setting:
4. Press the [SETUP] button when you’ve finished.
• Video Attenuation
This setting can be made for the DVD, VIDEO 1,
VIDEO 2, or VIDEO 3 input.
If you have a games console connected to an S-Video
or composite video input, and the picture isn’t very
clear, you can attenuate the gain.
Video ATT:0: (default).
Video ATT:2: Gain is reduced by 2 dB.
• Outputting S-Video Sources from the Composite
Video Outputs
This setting can be made for the DVD, VIDEO 1, or
VIDEO 2 input.
With this setting, you can output S-Video input
sources from the composite video outputs, useful if
your TV doesn’t have any S-Video inputs.
Y/C Mix:Off: S-Video input signals are output by
only S-Video outputs (default).
Y/C Mix:On: S-Video input signals are output by
S-Video outputs and composite video outputs.
The AV receiver contains a microcomputer for signal pro-
cessing and control functions. In very rare situations,
severe interference, noise from an external source, or
static electricity may cause it to lockup. In the unlikely
event that this happens, unplug the power cord from the
wall outlet, wait at least five seconds, and then plug it
back in again.
Onkyo is not responsible for damages (such as CD
rental fees) due to unsuccessful recordings caused by
the unit’s malfunction. Before you record important
data, make sure that the material will be recorded cor-
rectly.
Before disconnecting the power cord from the wall out-
let, set the AV receiver to Standby.
Memory Backup
The AV receiver uses a battery-less memory backup
system in order to retain radio presets and other set-
tings when it’s unplugged or in the case of a power fail-
ure. Although no batteries are required, the AV receiver
must be plugged into an AC outlet in order to charge the
backup system. Once it has been charged, the AV
receiver will retain the settings for several weeks,
although this depends on the environment and will be
shorter in humid climates.
