Push the ink cartridge firmly inward until it is locked by the securing clip.

Grasp the scanner unit, press its securing support and lift it slightly, then lower it until it is completely
closed.

If a new cartridge is installed, the printer will automatically perform a cartridge recognition procedure
which lasts at least 3 minutes. An ink cartridge alignment page will then be printed to indicate that the
newly installed ink cartridge was automatically aligned. For information see "Aligning the Ink
Cartridges".
