Troubleshooting
Touch Panel does
not work.
The HOLD function is set to
ON.
Press HOLD to release the HOLD
function.
The device
becomes hot.
The temperature of the device
increases after extended periods
of operation.
This is not a malfunction.
–
The battery
discharges soon
after charging.
The battery should be replaced.
The built-in battery is good for about
500 complete charges and discharges,
depending on usage. If the battery
discharges soon after charging, contact
your nearest Olympus service center for
battery replacement.
–
Nothing is
displayed on the
screen.
The battery is empty.
Charge the battery with the supplied AC
adapter.
The HOLD function is set to
ON.
The screen disappears when HOLD is
set to ON. Press HOLD to release the
HOLD function.
The screen is
dark.
The LCD brightness setting is
too low.
Adjust the setting of the LCD
brightness.
The backlight of
the screen turns
off.
The backlight is set to turn off.
Set the desired time or change
“BACKLIGHT” to “ON.”
There is no
sound.
The volume is set to minimum.
Adjust the volume on the device or
remote.
The remote or headphones are
not connected properly.
Check whether the remote/headphones
are connected to the device properly.
The image is out
of focus.
The subject is too close.
Always be at least 40 cm (15

in.)
from the subject when shooting.

The device moved during
shooting when you touched the
screen.
Hold the device firmly and touch the
center of the screen lightly to avoid blur
when shooting.
