Adjust the sound output levels of the center speaker
and the rear speakers so that they become almost the
same as that of the main speakers.

Press TIME/LEVEL once or more to select the speaker
to be adjusted so that “CENTER”, “R SUR.” or “L SUR.”
appears on the display.

* You cannot adjust the delay time while the test tone is

sounding even if “DELAY” appears on the display
after pressing TIME/LEVEL once or more.

Adjust the level.
* Pressing raises and lowers the level.
* While adjusting, the test tone is heard from the

selected speaker.

When the adjustment is finished, press TEST again to
stop the test tone.

Notes
• Once you have completed these adjustments, you can only

adjust the overall sound level of your audio system by using
VOLUME (or VOLUME (

) on the remote control).

• If you use external power amplifiers, you may also use their

volume controls to achieve the proper balance.

• If the function “CNTR” in the SET MENU mode is set to the

NONE position, the sound output level of the center speaker
cannot be adjusted in step 8. The center sound is automati-
cally output from the left and right main speakers.

• If there is insufficient sound output from the center and rear

speakers, you may decrease the main speaker output level
by setting “M.LVL” to “–10 dB”.
