3.2 Principle of operation

VEGABAR 54 - climate compensated is a pressure transmitter for use

in the paper and food processing industries as well as in water/waste

water applications under difficult conditions (cold medium and warm,

humid environment).
Depending on the version, the pressure transmitter is used for meas-

urement of level, gauge pressure or vacuum. Measured products

are gases, vapours and liquids, including those containing abrasive

substances.

The sensor element is an encapsulated CERTEC

®

absolute pressure

measuring cell with robust, front-flush (depending on the process

fitting), abrasion resistant ceramic diaphragm. The process pressure

causes a capacitance change in the measuring cell via the ceramic

diaphragm. This capacitance change is converted into an electrical
