VEGATOR 122 •

46108-EN-131217

If this does not correspond to the definition or is completey missing,

the VEGATOR 122 displays a fault.
Note:

When connecting sensors without this defined switching sequence,

the switch-on monitoring must be deactivated.

With these switches you can delay the changeover of the relays by

the set time. This can be useful, e.g. with fluctuating product surfaces,

for preventing unwanted switching commands. The switch-on/off

delays can be set independently of each other. If both switches, e.g.

of the switch-on delay, are activated, the times sum up. Delays of 2, 6

or 8 seconds can thus be adjusted.
Information:

Keep in mind that the switching delay of the sensor and signal condi-

tioning instrument accumulate.

As opposed to simple level detection, two-point control allows the

switch-on and switch-off points to be set at different locations (hys-

teresis). This hysteresis can be defined via the mounting positions,

i.e. the distance between the two sensors. The principle is used, for

example, to control pumps for filling and emptying. Thus, for example,

the filling of a vessel can be switched on at 10 % level and switched

off again at 90 % level. The two output relays behave identically in this

mode.

The measuring system is continuously monitored. The following

criteria are checked:

Line break and shortcircuit (two-wire cable)

Interruption of the connection cable to the piezo elements

Corrosion or damage on the tuning fork (vibrating rod)

Break of the tuning fork (vibrating rod)

Loss of vibration

Too low vibrating frequency

Medium penetration into the sensor (from inside vessel)

When level switches VEGASWING/VEGAVIB/VEGAWAVE in two-wire

version are connected, a function test can be carried out. The test key

is recessed behind the front plate of the signal conditioning instru-

ment. Press the test key for at least one second with a suitable object

(screwdriver, pen, etc.).
By pushing the test key, the circuit to the sensor is interrupted and a

restart of the sensor is initiated. Through this, the conditions fault sig-

nal, empty and full alarm are simulated. Check if the switching relays

have really switched according to the LEDs.
If the test result is negative, the red failure LED lights up and the

relays are deenergized. In this case the whole measuring system has

to be checked and repaired.
