3. Operation

• Attach the suction caps to the charger and attach the charger to the inside or outside

of the car windshield.

• Alternatively, you can mount the charger to a wall using the keyhole slots at the rear

of the charger.

• Connect the cable to either the cigarette lighter or directly to the battery.

• As long as there is sufficient sunlight, the charger will produce a small electrical

current to trickle charge your battery. The red LED (#4 in above figure) will flash
when the panel is trickle charging the battery.

• The charger will not overcharge or damage the battery. Similarly, a blocking diode

ensures that the charger cannot flatten your battery.

• Please note that the SOL5N is designed to trickle charge batteries to compensate for

the natural drainage. It is not intended to recharge a completely discharged battery.

• Disconnect the charger before starting the car or driving it. The electrical surges from

the car engine may damage the charger.

• Some vehicles have tinted windows that seriously affect the performance of the solar

charger if it is positioned behind them. For optimum results, place the SOL5N outside
the vehicle in direct sunlight.
