3. Safety symbols

This symbol next to another symbol, terminal or operating device indicates that

the operator should pay heed to the instructions in the manual in order to avoid
personal injury or damage to the meter.

This warning symbol indicates a potentially hazardous situation, which, if not
avoided, could result in serious injury or death.

This warning symbol indicates a potentially hazardous situation, which, if not
avoided, could result in damage to the product.

A terminal marked with this symbol should not be connected to a circuit point of

which the voltage exceeds 500 VAC or VDC above ground.

This symbol next to one or more terminals indicated that they may carry

particularly hazardous voltages. For maximum safety, do not use the meter and
the test leads if you see this symbol.

6. Operation

ALWAYS turn the function switch to the OFF position when the meter is not in use. This meter has an auto

OFF function that automatically switches the meter OFF after 15 minutes of inactivity.

If “OL” appears on the display during a measurement, the value exceeds the range you have selected.
Change to a higher range.
