2.7 Installing a DIMM
The system motherboard comes with two Double Data Rate (DDR) Dual
Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets that support dual-channel memory
configuration using unbuffered non-ECC PC3200/2700/2100 DIMMs.

You may install up to 2 GB system memory using 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB,
512 MB, and 1 GB DDR DIMMs.

• Install only i d e n t i c a l i d e n t i c a l i d e n t i c a l i d e n t i c a l i d e n t i c a l (the same type and size) DDR DIMM in
DIMM_A and DIMM_B.
• Always install DIMMs with the same CAS latency. For optimum
compatibility, we recommend that you obtain memory modules
from the same vendor.
• This motherboard only supports x4, x8, x16 chips per module DDR
DIMMs.
• Make sure that the memory frequency matches the CPU FSB (Front
Side Bus). Refer to the Memory frequency/CPU FSB synchronization
table on the next page.
Obtain DDR DIMMs only from ASUS qualified vendors. Refer to the
Qualified DDR400 vendors list below. Visit the ASUS website
(www.asus.com) for the latest DDR Qualified Vendors List.
