Getting started

1. Connect the charger

plug to a power outlet.

2. Connect the charger to

the socket at the bottom
of the phone. The
connector can only be
inserted one way.

Charging the battery

It takes a few hours to fully charge a battery
for the first time. For best battery performance,
allow the battery to charge and discharge
completely the first few times you use it.

In charging

When the phone is turned on, the animation on
the upper right corner of the screen will indicate
the charging progress. The phone is workable
when the battery is charged, but it may take
twice the time to fully charge the battery.
When the phone is turned off, the animation will
appear on the screen to indicate the charging
progress. The phone can be turned on for use
when the battery is charged.

Low battery indicators

The battery indicator on the upper right corner
of the screen indicates how much charge
remains in the battery. When the battery is low,
the phone will beep and the message “battery
low” will appear on the screen.

NOte: If the battery has been deeply discharged, it may take
the battery level indicator several minutes to display.

turning the phone on/off

To turn the phone on:

• Flip open the phone.

Hold down the power/end

key until

the screen lights up.

If needed, enter your SIM card PIN code
and press the Enter key.

To turn the phone off:

• Press the power/end

key and hold

until the phone shuts down.

NOte: If you set an alarm using the Organizer menu, then turn
off the phone, the phone will turn itself on when the alarm is
activated. After you disable the alarm, the phone prompts you if
you want to keep the phone turned on or off. See the Organizer
section for details about setting an alarm.

CAUtION:
• Use only the batteries and chargers approved by ASUS or

else damage may occur to the mobile phone.

• You can also charge the battery by connecting the phone to

a computer using the supplied USB cable.
