If you want to use the factory defaults, touch the Use Factory Defaults
button and proceed to step 5l.

Touch the IP Address field. The on-screen numeric keypad appears (see

figure 13

on page 14).

f.

Enter the IP address. Invalid IP addresses are displayed in red.

g.

Touch the <Enter> key

on the numeric keypad to accept the address and

dismiss the keypad from the display.

h.

Touch the Subnet Mask field. The on-screen numeric keypad appears (see

figure 13

on page 14).

i.

Enter the subnet mask value. Invalid subnet mask values are displayed in red.

j.

Touch the <Enter> key

on the numeric keypad to accept the subnet mask

value and dismiss the keypad from the display.

k.

To obtain the IP address from a DHCP server, check if the Obtain an IP

address from a DHCP server radio button is selected ( ). To change the
setting, use a pencil eraser or other small, soft object to touch the radio button.

l.

Touch the OK button to accept the change and exit the screen or touch the Cancel
button to exit the screen without changing the option or IP values. If you touch the

Cancel button, proceed to step 6.

m.

If you touched the OK button in step 5l, a reboot warning screen appears.

NOTE: If you touch the OK button, the FPC computer will reboot.

Touch the OK button to force the FPC computer to reboot and make the changes
you entered, or touch the Cancel button to abandon the changes and return to
the TCP/IP Properties screen.

n.

If you touched the OK button in step 5m, the FPC computer reboots. After the
reboot is complete, perform step 3 (log on) and then proceed to step 6.

Examine the Matrix IP Address field in the IP connections screen. The field displays
the last matrix IP address entered. If the IP address is correct, proceed to step 7.

NOTE: If the local system administrators have not changed the value, the factory-

specified default, 192.168.254.254, is the correct value for this field.

a.

Touch the scroll down button ( ) to access the recently-used-addresses scroll box,
or touch the Matrix IP Address field to access the on-screen keyboard (see

figure 12

on page 13).

b.

If you selected the on-screen keyboard, enter the IP address.

c.

Touch the <Enter> key on the on-screen keyboard to accept the address and
dismiss the keyboard from the display if applicable.

7.

If the switcher is not password protected, proceed to step 8.

a.

Touch the Password field. The on-screen keyboard appears.

b.

Enter the administrator or user password by touching the correct characters on the
keyboard.

NOTE: Passwords are case sensitive.

c.

Touch the <Enter> key on the on-screen keyboard key to accept the
password and dismiss the keyboard from the display.
