Personal safety

Do not use the appliance when under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. Stay alert at all times when using the appliance.

Always wear personal protective equipment when using the appliance. This
includes eye protection, dust mask, non-skid safety shoes and hearing
protection.

Ensure the switch is in the off position before connecting it to the power source.
When carrying the power tool always ensure that it is in the off position and
unplugged from the power source.

When using the appliance do not overreach, maintain proper footing and
balance at all times.

Never wear loose clothing and remove jewellery before use. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.

Power tool safety

Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn the appliance on and off. If
the appliance can not be controlled with the switch it is dangerous and must be
repaired.

Before carrying out any maintenances, repairs, changing accessories or storing
the power tool disconnect it from the electrical supply.

Appliance specific safety

Keep your body away from the cutter blades at all times. Do not remove cut
material or hold material to be cut when the blades are moving. When clearing
jammed material always turn the appliance off and unplug it from the mains
supply.

Carry the hedge trimmer by its handles at all times. Switch the appliance off.
When transporting or storing the hedge trimmer always fit the blade cover.

Always keep the cable away from the cutting area.
