BATMASTER works in conjunction with your own calibrated multimeter. It quickly compares
accuracy between the calibrated multimeter and ACT Intelligent Battery Tester under test.
It allows you compare DCV and verify Ah capacity. Readings within ±5% of the calibrated
multimeter will prove the ACT Intelligent Battery Tester under test is deemed accurate to
BS ISO9001 standards.

For ACT RED/GOLD-IBT Intelligent Battery Testers and GOLD PLUS

Intelligent Battery Tester models only.

1. Connect power supply and switch AC on. Yellow power LED will illuminate.
2. Wait for AMBER charging LED to stop flashing
3. When GREEN LED shows, connect calibrated multimeter and switch to 2OV DC range.
4. Connect battery tester clips tightly to posts, RED + BLACK -
5. During battery tester power up, allow multimeter voltage to stablise, then compare

voltage with battery tester. Pass equals ±5% of multimeter reading.

6. Record battery tester Ah reading Pass = 7Ah - 9Ah
7. Replace battery tester leads if Ah reading is low or erratic. IMPORTANT: BATMASTER

operating temperature 20°C - 30°C (68°F - 86°F) Replace BATMASTER internal battery
(Yuasa NP7Ah-12V) when RED LED indicates.

WHY IS MY GOLD PLUS READING LESS THAN 7Ah?
The BATMASTER contains a conditioned reference 7Ah SLA Battery. This is rated 7Ah at
20C. After longer periods without use, this capacity will, as all batteries, reduce over time.
Even slightly below room temperature will result in a lower reading being obtained. We
recommend leaving the BATMASTER connected to the mains for at least 24 hours before
using for the first time, and if the BATMASTER has not been used for a period of more than
1 month.
