REMOVE SPARE TIRE
BEFORE DRILLING

1.

Remove spare tire. Remove the drain plug from the passenger side of the trunk.

2.

Put the angle bracket (1) with carriage bolt (Item 1) over the existing drain hole inside the trunk setting against the bottom and back of the trunk

pan.

Raise the hitch into position under the angle bracket and attach the fasteners as shown. Hand tighten the hitch to angle bracket fasteners.

Align the hitch into position using the back of the trunk pan and the rib running along the trunk pan with the location of the hole on the hitch

bar. Check the location of the hitch on the vehicle. Note: center rib on trunk pan not center of vehicle.

5.

Drill the hole thru the rib and into the trunk using the hitch as a template. Secure the hitch using the fasteners as shown.

6.

Drill a hole using the hitch as a template into the trunk pan on the drivers side of the vehicle. Repeat step 2. Hand tighten all fasteners.

7.

With the hitch in position and both angle brackets setting against the rear of the trunk pan drill the holes thru the rear of the trunk pan using the

angle brackets as a template. Place the (2) remaining (Item 1) Carriage bolt through the angle brackets.

8.

Remove the (2) bolts with the 10mm wrench and push the fascia out of the way to allow access to the rear of the trunk pan and fastener.

Attach the fasteners as shown.

9.

Tighten all 7/16 fasteners with torque wrench to 50 Lb.-Ft.

10.

Seal drilled or existing drain holes in trunk pan to prevent intrusion of exhaust fumes and water

11.

Reinstall the spare tire in the trunk and re-attach the fascia.

Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to

prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working

beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
