Chopper Adjustment

(Refer to Trouble Shooting Guide for Chopper Adjustment)

1. Roll eccentric counter-clockwise (towards back of chopper) until the rubber roll and

blade rotor are touching, but when one is held firm, the other should be able to be
turned by hand, with some effort. Tighten in this position.

2. Roll eccentric counter-clockwise (towards back of chopper) until the roving feed

bearing (idler) would appear to be touching rubber roll; but when rubber roll is turned,
it should turn freely without driving the idler bearing. Tighten in this position.

3. The eccentrics are in proper position when the off-center holes are positioned

toward back of the gun.

Final Assembly (’80 Model)

1. Place bolt through hole on top of chopper handle (looking from back of gun, bolt

goes through from right side). Place washer on bolt with flat side of washer
towards head of bolt. Place chopper on bolt using hole at back of chopper. Screw
nut (curve side towards chopper) onto bolt. Snug tight.

Note: This assembly is for attaching the chopper gun to the gun handle and
adjusting glass pattern (see operation section). If unit is used with MVP Boom,
attach boom cable to bolt for suspending gun. Screw lock nut onto bolt.

2. Screw silencer into exhaust hole of air motor (hole near manifold block).
3. Place tube with ferrule onto tube fitting.

Note: Other end of tube with ferrule attaches to fitting on gun handle.

4. Slide chopper cover extension (sideways) onto front, bottom lip of chopper cover.
5. Attach cover to chopper, lining up notch in base place with boss in cover. Twist

cover stud to lock cover in place.

Note: NEVER RUN CHOPPER WITHOUT COVER.

Chopper Assembly (’75 Model)

Valve Block Subassembly

1. Install the stem nuts (2 each) in the back edge of valve block.
2. Thread locknut onto topmost valve stem and attach valve stems (2 each) to stem nuts.
3. Position two of the three o-rings in the recesses in the flat face of valve block (the

third o-ring will be installed later).

4. Attach valve block to air motor with cap screw (the cap screw passes through valve

block and into motor housing). Hand tighten only until valve block assembly is
attached to base.
