Remove two yellow wires

WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE YOUR HEATER IF THE OIL PRIMARY
SAFETY CIRCUIT IS NOT WORKING!

!

Initial Diagnosis:
When an operating problem occurs, a determination must be made whether or not the fuel
pump is pumping a sufficient amount of oil that contains no air or water.

Take these steps:
t
Adjust the burner air regulator to -0- PSI.

tTurn pre-heater rocker switch off (red light off ).

tShut off oil supply line valve to the burner.

tRemove the fuel supply line from the supply tank.

tWhen using a by-pass regulator attach a flexible piece of tubing at least 3 feet long to the

outlet on the return side of the oil by-pass regulator.
tWhen using a metering pump disconnect the fuel supply line from the burner.

tInsert the tubing into the bottom of a large jar.

tJump the cad cell circuit and start the fuel pump (see below).

tAttempt to fill the jar above the open end of the tubing.

tIf the pump will not pump fuel, attempt to prime the pump (Section 10). If the pump

won’t prime refer to Flow Chart Item B.

If no air or water is present the flow must be determined:
t
When using a by-pass regulator pump fuel for 1 minute into a graduated container, if the

flow rate is less the 250 MILS/Minute (8-1/2 Ounces), refer to Section 14 Troubleshooting
Chart Item B.

If the flow rate is more than 250 MILS/minute (8-1/2 Ounces), refer to Troubleshooting
Chart Item C.

When using the optional metering pump:
Pump fuel for 1 minute into a graduated container. The flow rate will vary by model.

MX-150 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 66 ML/MIN
MX-200 & MXD-200 . . . . . . 87 ML/MIN
MX-250 & MXB-250 . . . . . . 109 ML/MIN
MX-300 & MXD-300 . . . . . . 139 ML/MIN

If flow rate using a metering pump is more than +/- 10% contact Lanair Service at
888-370-6531.

After repairs are made, remove the cad cell
jumper wire, and reconnect the cad cell wires
to the oil primary.

By-passing the oil primary safety circuit:
Some trouble-shooting test may require the cad
cell safety circuit in the oil primary control to be
bypassed, to do this:
