Installation Instructions

Equipment Required: Pull wire (provided)

Wrenches: 12mm, 17mm, 3/4

Drill Bits: 3/8

Access hole drill

side frame rail only

1.

Remove tie down hook on driver frame rail. Return to owner with fasteners. Not shown.

2.

Remove fasteners holding the exhaust bracket on passenger side. Return fastener to owner. Not shown.

3.

Remove tape covering rearward hole on the passenger side frame rail and enlarge access hole. The access hole will need to

be modified before the hitch can be installed. Using a 3/8” drill bit, drill through the frame rail approx. 5/8” off the center of the

existing hole. See Figure 2 Note: Passenger side only.

4.

Feed the carriage bolt and spacer thru enlarged hole on bottom of frame rails using the pull wire. Then pull fastener back

through until fastener protrudes through bottom of frame rail. Leave pull wire on until hitch is in place. See Figure 3.

5.

Raise hitch into position. Finger tighten all M12 and 1/2” fasteners as shown.

6.

Raise exhaust hanger back into position, install new M8 fasteners. (Provided with hitch.)

7.

Tighten all fasteners to specification.

Tighten all M8 CL8.8 fasteners with torque wrench to 17 Lb.-Ft. (23 N*M)

Tighten all M12 CL8.8 fasteners with torque wrench to 65 Lb.-Ft. (88 N*M)

Tighten all 1/2 GR 5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M)

Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to

prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working

beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

and SAE J684.
